It is the year 2012. The Avengers as we know them are no longer active. Nick Fury is no longer the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. The Hulk went berserk in Las Vegas, Nevada and killed twenty-six innocent civilians. From this incident, the people screamed for accountability, and wondered why the government was not doing anything about the "problem" of mutants and superhumans.
Enter the Superhuman Registration Act of 2012 (or the SHA), which calls for any and all mutants and superhumans to register as a "weapon of mass destruction". Those mutants and superhumans who refuse to register or who are undecided and neutral are currently either in hiding or on the run. If you are a human, you are either for or against registration of the Superhumans, and you either make your sentiments known or risk going into hiding as an enemy and a traitor to the United States government.
There was a time when the lines were clearly drawn. But now...
There are no heroes. There are no villains. You will have to choose...to become imprisoned by the shackles of the government, or to break the chains of tyranny.
