full name: Madeleine Carmen McKinnon
age: 17
year: 1960
birthday: November 14
blood line: Pureblood
occupation: Student
former / house: Gryffindor
- Personality: Maddy is a rather sassy teenage girl. She won't back talk her teachers, she already knows that that will not get her anyway, however, she isn't afraid to show a bit of sass to her peers. Maddy isn't stuck up in her manner, despite her sassiness. Though she is fiercely independent, as well as a bit of a joker. This is only at some moments in time, and mostly in the presence of her closer friends, or just any friends, really. Maddy is also outgoing, and not all that afraid to speak her mind. She doesn't have much of a problem speaking out, either, and public speaking could actually be considered a forte of her's. Furthermore, Maddy is also extremely protective of her family, one wisecrack about them, or her little sister and she might snap back, though she can't be truly considered someone who might actually have a temper. In fact, Maddy is still just reserved and friendly, the only temper that she demonstrates being the one that shows itself when her friends or family is brought up and portrayed in a bad light.
Maddy is quite down to earth in the sense that she doesn't get airs about herself. She's perfectly content with simpler things, and doesn't overdo much, in attitude or style. Maddy isn't overly absorbed in academics, though she does rather well. You won't find her studying twenty four seven. While grades are important to her, she doesn't see them as requiring her attention all of the time. Maddy's a witty teenage witch, quick with words and come backs. She's also got a bit of charisma up her sleeve and though she can use it at times, more often than not it doesn't end up working as she would like it to. Maddy is also a wise young girl, in the manner that she may say things out of context that make some, but usually no sense (which could be referred to as being random). Overall Maddy's a friendly, rather easy going, protective witch who's quick with her thoughts and on her toes, as well as sometimes just a touch rebellious.- Likes: Chatting, Reading (sometimes), Public Speaking, Pranks, Laughing, Joking Around, Lazy Days.
- Dislikes: Too Much Homework, Being Cornered, Dark Places, Small Enclosed Places, Cruelty, Boredom, Showing her own Weakness.
- Appearance: Maddy's definitely got a bit of a tall and lean body build. She's strongly built, and can most certainly not be considered fragile. She may not look it at times, but she's got quite a bit of muscle packed away in her lithe frame. Maddy stands at about five feet six inches tall and weighs in at the average range of things for her age and height group. Starting with her head in her appearance, Maddy can be considered to have what can only be described as cascades of long blond hair that flow down her back, halting just about half way down her back. Her hair may also hold a bit of a golden hue to it at times, as well. This varies however, depending on how the sunlight, or just any lighting, is hitting her hair. Maddy's eyebrows are light blond, which matches her hair quite well as they curve over her almost slightly oval shaped eyes. Her eyes also contain a hue of almost blue green in color, with maybe a hint of golden which blends in well with the other shades of color hidden within the depths of her eyes.
Madeleine's face curves gently in general, coming to a curved point at her chin. Her nose is relatively small and almost seemingly delicate in appearance. It doesn't come to a point, either, but rather curves gently at it's end. Maddy's lips are, finally, almost delicate looking with a light or medium pink tinge of color to them. Her hands are graceful, and for the most part herself as a whole is unscarred. Maddy does have a few scars from her childhood. These are from the typical wounds that one may get as a child, such as falling (or accidently breaking things). They're rather small, if you can see them at all, and mostly located around her hands and knees. Maddy does, however have the cartilage of both of her ears pierced three times, and the lower part of both of her ears pierced twice, giving her five ear piercings in total. These are also the only piercings that Maddy has at the moment. She also doesn't have any tattoos at the moment, though those are in consideration for her.
Maddy's style extends to typically wearing a pair of blue jeans in the summer as well as a v-neck t-shirt, which is sometimes paired with a tank top underneath it. However, more often than not, around Hogwarts young can typically find her dressed in her robes. This occurs mostly during the school day, though sometimes she doesn't bother to change out of them after classes. Her clothes can, however, be a bit odd at times, though always decent. Maddy enjoys wearing rings (such as rings on her fingers and toes), as well as some jewelry (and painting her nails). She prefers colors that are related to the Gryffindor class colors, but the coloration of all of her clothing is pretty much anything (as long as it doesn't clash). Maddy's hair doesn't have a particular style to it, either. She usually wears it in whatever style is easiest. This also extends to basically just styling her hair whatever way she feels like styling when she wakes up. Maddy doesn't usually mind much of anything with the details as long as she looks at least moderately presentable. She also wears make up at times, though only a light shading of it, typically. Maddy doesn't overdo it much and typically skips even doing her make up, like styling her hair in a complex manner most mornings.- History: Madeleine Carmen McKinnon is the first born daughter of Marcus and Miranda McKinnon. Madeleine was born at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries at three o'clock in the morning on November 14th, in the year 1960. She spent about a week at the hospital, four days after her mother had been discharged due to the fact that she had been born a few weeks premature. However, after the extra four days Madeleine was officially discharged by the healer who had been looking over her. She was deemed perfectly healthy, though a bit on the small side and sent home with her obviously greatly relieved parents. Maddy was quiet as a baby, rarely crying at her age, which sparked a few more trips to St. Mungo's. However Maddy was given the all clear, the reasoning being that she was only just quiet. This was the end of her problems as a baby, and she grew up well, catching up and sticking to growing and developing at the same pace as other children her age.
This was the point that Maddy received her first piercing. It was simply a stud earring in the lower part of both of her ears. Her parent's had followed the lead of Maddy's mother's parents in getting her ears pierced at a young age. At the time that she had received them Maddy had been about a year old or so.
Later on, when Maddy turned two another thing came to the attention of her parents. It had been about a year since her younger sister Marlene had been born, on time and healthy. Though they had focused quite a bit of attention on Marlene, they still kept a close eye on Maddy. Her parents were nervous for her well being and any other things that might come up. At that point in time Maddy had only been toddling about for a few months. She had also, only recently started her supposed "terrible twos," though she hadn't wreaked much havoc in that span of time. Maddy had remained a rather quiet child throughout the time that led up to this and during this time. She had always remained just about perfectly content to sit about playing with her dolls and other toys under the supervision of her parents. Maddy's parents demonstrated a bit of concern, but they instead chose to way to see if her demeanor changed as she grew older.
Things did end up changing, though not in all that of a positive manner. Maddy had been toddling around the living room about midday while her mother was fixing their lunch in the kitchen, occasionally peeking in to check on her. Maddy, having been becoming a gradually more inquisitive child had begun tugging on the table cloth, located a few inches above her head. This, a few moments later caused the vases on top of it to come crashing down , shattering around her. A terrified young Maddy, having suffered quite a few deep scrapes stumbled back and fell into the glass. The crash, as well as the screams that Maddy was emitting brought her mother racing into the room. Finding her daughter rather seriously injured, her mother had grabbed Maddy, and Marlene and quickly apparated to St. Mungo's. The healers immediately took Maddy to heal the wounds while her mother sent a fire message to her father.
About an hour later the healers gave them the frightening news, having already healed Maddy's cuts. They told her parents that she had Hemophilia, which had caused the healing to take longer than it normally would have. It was a rare bleeding disorder that prevented blood from clotting properly. This disorder, they were told, was even more rare to be occurring in females such as Maddy. Her parents were terrified, having lived through the fear of Maddy's weakness and mild scares when she was only a baby. The healers prescribed a potion that taken daily would aid in helping her blood clot at a normal rate, should anything occur. Her parents were also told to be careful and make sure that she wouldn't be injured, even with the healing potion that she would be taking.
Her parents had brought her home and spent the next few days spoiling her, as well as her little sister. The time had confused a young Maddy, who didn't quite understand what had happened. Things had returned back to what could be considered at least relatively normal after the recent events. Maddy, who had become a bit more adventurous wasn't all that happy with having to always be under her mother's watchful eye, always being careful. At two years old she hadn't understood it, nor had she been all that happy with it.
Growing up, as she began to understand, Maddy began to realize that she needed to be quite a bit more careful than other kids her age. Maddy was, of course obedient and careful, though she earned her own fair share of scars from not being careful enough. She also had a few additional trips to St. Mungo's for when she got much more serious cuts, as well as to receive more of the potion. Maddy felt as if she was sheltered in her life, which she was, in a relative sense. She was only exposed to her cousins and family friends (who were also magical) at a young age. All of these relatives treated her as if she was fragile and seemed to dance around her, making sure she wouldn't be hurt.
One of things that Maddy felt great resentment towards at her younger age was the fact that she couldn't do as much as the other children. She had always hated the fact that she couldn't run and play in the same way as her little sister and other friends. Maddy had bared managed to convince her parents to allow her to get one of the toy brooms that barely went a few feet off of the ground. They seemed much too overprotective and overbearing at her young age.
Maddy had received her second piercing when she was ten in the lower part of her ear, after promising her parents that she would make sure that it stayed clean and wouldn't become infected. She also assured them that she would be careful and tell someone if it did bleed. It had taken much convincing to get her parents to even agree to it in the slightest.
The young witch left for Hogwarts about a year later, having received the typical owl along with her acceptance letter to Hogwarts. Her parents had been nervous about sending her off, and had made sure the school understood about her potions and the blood disorder. Maddy's parents also reminded her profusely to be careful and make sure not to get hurt. She was sorted into Gryffindor house, like her father. She did, however prove to live up quite a bit to her mother's Ravenclaw brains.
Maddy's younger sister joined her at Hogwarts in her second year of school. At this point Maddy had made several friends and become well acquainted with the many ways of avoiding injuries at Hogwarts. The year passed in the same manner as her first year had, with a little less excitement.
The young witch passed her O.W.Ls well, receiving her three cartilage piercings in the summer going into her fifth, sixth, and seventh years, one in each ear each of those summers, after convincing her parents. She also played the overprotective sister to her younger sister Marlene over the years. Maddy has made more friends over the years and became more outgoing and a bit more known over the years. Adding in a bit more rebellion, which was a great contrast to her youngest years. Maddy, or Mads now waits for her N.E.W.Ts and tries to be careful, at least for her parents. as well as keeping up with her friends.- Family: Maddy's family consist of her father, Marcus McKinnon, who is fifty four years old and currently works in the Auror Office under the Department of Magical Law Enforcement (though he is no longer in the field, unless desperately needed and mostly does paperwork and such). Maddy's mother's name is Miranda McKinnon and she is currently forty nine years old and works in the Department of International Magical Cooperation. Maddy also has a younger sister, who is one year her junior, named Marlene Marissa McKinnon. Marlene is currently a Gryffindor sixth year, one year under Maddy in school. Maddy also has various other relatives, being a pure blood, however a majority of them are completely unknown to her. She has, however, had contact with a few various cousins, aunts, and uncles throughout her life.

rp sample: This is my post by one of my characters on another site, Sadakanta Bryant. My post lengths may be longer at times, but I think this is about average for me :) Here:
Sadie had arrived at number twelve Grimmauld Place almost an hour before the meeting had been scheduled to meet. For her, it had been common sense, after all, she would have ended up being called about at St. Mungo's instead of leaving on time. There always was something for her to be working on there, which was why she had brought a bit of paperwork with her to work on before the meeting started. It was, after all, better to get at least a little bit of work done, since she had had to leave work an hour early. It had horrified her at first, the thought of leaving her patients to the other healers and mediwizards, though it still wasn't as bad as when she had first started working there. Those days she had practically lived at St. Mungo's, taking care of her patients.
With a sigh, Sadie glanced down at the paperwork before her as she sat at a desk in one of the spare bedrooms on the second floor at the Order of the Phoenix's headquarters. Her quill scratched lightly across the parchment as she finished the last few lines of the report of a patient who had just come in, splinched. It was a common enough malady, however, splinching seemed easily prevented to the former Slytherin. This patient had suffered multiple wounds across his body, which had been healed. Some of them, however, had been more severe, which had resulted in him needing to stay for a few days. This, of course, had led to her own report.
Sadie sighed as she placed her pen back on the desk carefully. Rubbing her temples slightly and shaking her head as she stared at the finished, and unfinished stacks of papers before her. Sadie stood slowly, stretching her limbs and walking about the room to stretch her legs, which were a bit stiff from sitting there for the past hour, her footsteps causing the floorboards to squeak. Sadie shook her head and sighed again when her eyes landed on the papers. So much work to do. She thought with yet another sigh. True, all of the work was worth it, but it was still a hassle sometimes.
Startled out of her revere, Sadie blinked when she heard a voice call out Hello and asked if anyone was there. The relatively young healer blinked at the figure in the door, another member of the Order of the Phoenix. "I am." Sadie said, stating the obvious and giving a slight wave of her hand at the other women.
Sadie wasn't necessarily familiar with all of the members of The Order of the Phoenix, so it was plausible that she didn't know the women before her. Which was completely true. And a bit shocking, at that, since Sadie could remember all of her patients with a bit of a startling recall ability. "So you're here for the meeting too?" Sadie asked in a conversational tone. Maybe it was a bit obvious, but some things were when you made conversation, after all.
