It was already in the middle of the day and Anthony felt like he needed to let off steam. He had been sitting, or rather holed up, in the Slytherin Common Room. He was sulking and trying to do a couple of essays he had forgotten to do. It wasn’t as if he had done it on purpose, his mind had tried to argue. Anthony had a lot of stuff he was dealing with. Quidditch practices were being held again. And quite honestly the captain got on his nerves. The fifth year boy could not listen to why this wouldn’t work. A lot of times the seventeen year old had gone straight to his head of house with complaints and tried to persuade him to replace him. Professor Slughorn wouldn’t budge. The black haired boy was content with throwing several hexes in frustration at him. It seemed to work. At least he was starting to get that the team mates never liked his strategy. If Anthony felt like it he might have put the imperius curse on the brat. He could not help but to let out a snort at the thought that he might be expelled. The black eyed boy sat up straighter as he was mentally cursing himself. He was being an idiot! These days the Slytherins were allowed to torture in the open and not get into any trouble.[/size]
Anthony let out a long breath he forgot he was holding. Oh Merlin he was being a complete and total idiot. It was October and two months since the term started. He should have gotten used to it by now! This was not the Anthony that he knew. He needed to get his act together. He pushed his essays back with a growl. He couldn’t concentrate on it. Not when he knew that he had half the school as victims. His eyes darkened as he gathered his stuff and left muttering under his breath. Once up in the dorm he stuffed his wand in his robe pocket. Anthony had a plan. He closed the door with a loud slam, earning him several glares from his mates. He returned those glares with one of his one. A leveled piercing glare that had made them shut up almost at once. He turned and stalked out of the common room, his frustrations at an all time high. He figured it was the amount of homework and the pressures from his father. James had threatened him again. It was the usual stuff. He better get good grades this year or he will spend life locked in the basement. Anthony let out a low breath at the memory of being locked down there as a child when he had been caught doing mischief.
In the day time it was fine. It was night time that he had to worry. In his mind he was convinced that shadows were lurking in there for him. That they would come out and grab him. Drag him into what he had dubbed ‘shadow lands’ forever. He had told his father that, only to have him laugh in his face. It had been that moment that Anthony had started to develop a cold and icy heart. No one had managed to pierce through it yet. Except for her, a small voice entered his mind. And look where it got me! Another one growled. He bit down on the inside of his cheeks as he made his way through the corridors of the castle. A few students took one look at him and scattered away. The old saying ‘if looks could kill’ would have worked this instant. He held a blazing look in his eyes. “Mudbloods.” Anthony muttered underneath his breath. “Need to learn their place.” And speaking of Mudbloods….his eyes had fallen on a certain red haired Gryffindor girl he had tortured in their fifth year. The memory of her dangling from the Astronomy Tower entered his mind. Oh it was precious indeed. His eyes glinted evilly as he walked over to her. They were out in the open. And Anthony wasn’t afraid to hurt her and suffer the consequences of his actions. “Macdonald.” He purred, pulling out his wand. “What a pleasure it is to see you.”
