Once again, Lily was just amazed at how time seemed to have flown by. Already October and the weather was starting to show it. It was starting to turn chilly and slightly windy. The seventh year girl was in the library working on an essay. She tapped the end of the quill on the Transfiguration book. There was no doubt that the seventh year was basically the hardest year yet. The amount of homework issued this year was ridiculous! She sighed softly to herself as she continued on with writing. Three feet and a half on the properties of some magic. Needless to say that she was not paying attention in class that day. A lot has been on her mind. Lily made a face as she ran her other hand through her hair. The library was empty except for a few other students. One of them was younger. She had a bit of amused look as she flipped the pages of the book. I need to pay attention, she thought with a shake of her head. She tried to push away the other thoughts that were starting to come in her mind. The essay was due in a few days and she wanted to get it done and out of the way. Lily was starting to think that she had picked the wrong day to do the homework. She bit down on her lower lip as she let out a frustrated sigh. This was getting nowhere.[/size]
If she didn’t know better she thought she was slacking! Now that was something to think about. Lily Evans, the brightest girl in her class, slacking off homework. She somehow managed to put her personal life after her school. Lately she had a lot of problems that had happened. She glanced at the window and had the shock of her life. It was already late. The sky was dark and stars were twinkling. How much time had passed since I started on this? She wondered idly frowning a bit. She looked down at her work. Two and a half pages had passed since she started to write. She decided to leave the rest for another day or night. A time where she would be able to concentrate more. She marked the spot where she had left of. She placed the parchment in her book before closing it and placing it in her bag. Lily stood up and quietly left after giving a nod and a smile to the librarian. For one moment she didn’t feel like leaving the place. It was one of the many places at Hogwarts that she felt safe at. She had a thoughtful look on her face. It was about high time to head back to the common room. Her eyes swept the hall before continuing on her way.
She had to make sure that there was no one roaming about. She didn’t think she would get in trouble for being out this late but she would never know really. She was the Head Girl and she held the respect of many teachers. Well, ones that didn’t believe in the fiasco of the wizarding world. She longed for the old times. Lily longed for when she felt safe roaming the halls. Now she had to constantly look over her shoulders and watch what she said. She didn’t want to upset anyone. Merlin it was the last thing she wanted to do. A small sigh escaped from her lips as she continued on to the floors. Lost in her thoughts she failed to hear the sounds of footsteps that were coming her way. The only sounds that were heard was her colliding with someone. “Oh! I’m sorry! I wasn’t watching where I was going and I was coming back from the library.” She felt hands on her and she automatically flinched as she studied herself. She slowly looked up and let out a small laugh. “Well if it isn’t Trevor. Are you and your twin causing late night trouble again?” There was a teasing tone to her voice as she ran a hand through her hair. “I don’t suppose the ‘when will you learn’ speech will never get through that head of yours.” She remarked fondly.
The two Gryffindors were friends and both of them were in the same year. The pranks they had pulled could almost match the infamous Marauder group. She let out a snort at the thought. Don’t start comparing that now, she thought to herself as she smirked up at Trevor. There were a couple of incidents where Lily had been a victim of their numerous pranks. She had vowed to get them back and it sometimes worked out. Sometimes it didn’t. “I’m not surprise to see you up and about this late at night truth be told.”
