------------------------------------------------------------- It looked like it was going to be another long night, Elaina thought as she glanced down at her Charms essay. The professor had wanted three feet on the subject of defensive charms work. To the blonde haired girl it was silly how they were learning to defend themselves in Charms. She was sure that they were going to get rid of the defensive spells in Charms and go for the attacking instead! It was only a matter of time before that would happen. She sighed darkly as she glanced down at the pile of homework. After the essay she would tackle the Dark Arts. She wished that class was optional. There was really no sense of taking it now. Now that they have been learning the darkest of spells. Elaina had been a target because she simply refuse to harm anyone. Now the teacher would do anything to see her in pain. She winced as she ran a hand over her arm. The blister was almost gone. A painful reminder of the class a few weeks ago. She considered it a good thing that she hadn’t told her brother this. She knew that Benjamin would go simply crazy. She knew that he would go berserk and start attacking people. The fifteen year old girl would not have it.
A small sigh escaped from her lips as she shook her head. She was trying to get rid of those thoughts. I have to focus more on homework. She glared down at it. They weren’t lying when they said that the fifth year was one of the hardest years with the exam coming up. She bit down on the inside of her cheeks. There had been times that she had thought about writing a letter to their parents. There were many times that she wanted to tell them to pull her out of Hogwarts. Her blue eyes glittered, now frowning at the books. She gave up, shaking her head as she gathered her things. She wouldn’t be able to finish them now! The young Hufflepuff walked up to the fifth year dorms with her arms filled with books. She was thankful that everyone was mostly downstairs. She sighed again as she started to clean up after herself. Elaina looked up as her two roommates entered the room chattering. They saw her and eagerly pounced on her to join. It was thirty minutes later that she had finally left the dorms laughing and shaking her head.
She was lucky that it was a few minutes til eleven. The common room was still filled with many people. Some of them were doing homework in groups and some were talking and laughing. It was the norm in the badger room. She pulled her cloak against her tightly. For October it was chilly. She could not believe that it had been more than a month since the start of the term. Time does fly by fast, she thought as she glanced around. The noise was suddenly stifling and that was surprising for a social butterfly like Elaina. Tonight she wanted to be by herself for a while. Just to think. She turned and walked out. A couple of strands of her hair managed to fall in her eyes. She impatiently pushed them away as she finally decided on a destination. The Astronomy Tower. There would not be anyone that was up in the tower. It was the perfect place to be. With that set in her mind she started on her way. She slunk into the shadows as she watched the professors and the school ghosts passing her by. She saw a perfect here and there. She was surprise when she did not encounter the Head Boy and Girl. Elaina was even more surprised when she blinked, finally paying attention to her surroundings. She pushed open the door that would lead to the Astronomy Tower. A small smile spread across her lips as she glanced up at the sky. Thousands of twinkling stars filled the inky blackness. The full moon shone brightly. Yes, this was a perfect night to star gaze. Elaina settled herself on the ledge and stared up at the sky. She started to become lost in her thoughts.

------------------------------------------------------------- Thousands upon thousands of stars were twinkling in the black sky. The full moon shone brightly, driving away a couple of stars that were near it. If only I could reach up and touch it, she thought as she made herself comfortable on the ledge. Of course that was downright impossible from her lessons on Astronomy. Still, one could hope and dream, she thought to herself as she bit down on her lower lip. Her thoughts then turned to her brother. She idly wondered how Benjamin was holding up. The two siblings haven’t spoken to each other in a while. Not since they had separated from the train ride here of course. She carefully pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. Elaina hoped that Ben was alright. She wanted to curse his name to hell and back for not at least sending her a letter stating that he was alright just busy. That was Benjamin for you, she thought with a small sigh escaping her lips. If she ever found a way into the Ravenclaw Tower Elaina would have stalked into his common room by now. She let out a soft giggle at the thought. Oh that would be wonderful to see the look on his face.
She felt arms wrapping around her waist and she let out a high pitch shriek. Her thoughts instantly going to the worst situation possible as she tried to grip the ledges. It seemed the person had something else in mind as they pulled her close. “Get off me!” She let out a small gasp as she tried her hardest to wriggle away. They had a strong grip. “I’m not here to please your idiotic needs you-” Her voice stopped as she heard her brother speaking. It was as if her thoughts had called him to her. She let out a groan. “Benjamin! What were you thinking going behind me and scaring the living daylights out of me!” Luckily her arms were free as she attempted to slap him. “I thought you were someone else!” Merlin she thought he was Nicholas. At the mention of the Hufflepuff Elaina went completely still. She had told no one about the incident. Not even Ryan or Benjamin. The latter would find him and beat him to a bloody pulp of course. The former would probably not believe her. Ryan would end up calling her a liar and thus their relationship would break. She didn’t want that. What am I going to do? Elaina asked herself as she leaned up against her brother for comfort.
The blonde haired girl sighed as she shifted a bit, trying to get herself comfortable on Ben. She was now frowning as she pushed back a couple of strands that had somehow managed to fall in her eyes. She shook her head at herself. Elaina was trying to get rid of her thoughts. “I haven’t seen you in forever after the train ride Benny! I was beginning to think you were avoiding me!” She playfully pouted. Elaina knew that Ben was probably busy as hell with his homework and Quidditch practice. Exactly what he saw in that sport Elaina would probably never know. There was actually no doubt that Quidditch was something she was interested in but she could never EVER find herself up high on a broom. “I was afraid you might have been claimed.” She said that last part softly. Elaina was filled with so many emotions as she gripped her brother tightly. The corners of her lips twitched upwards into a small smile at the thought of someone actually managing Ben. They would have their troubles that was for sure. She tried hard to stifle the giggle that was bubbling up inside of her. The two siblings were extremely close with one another.
They looked out for each other no matter what happens. Even when they were little Elaina was always trailing behind him. She wanted to get into a lot of trouble with him. Merlin she was a handful when she was a child. Thankfully the blonde haired girl had grown up. She was doing lady things with her mother and finding her own way in this world. She smiled softly as she continued to lean up against her brother. Oh Merlin he was comfortable. “I miss these moments Ben,” Elaina commented after a peaceful silence. “I miss these moments between us. Remember when I almost dropped mum’s vase when we were running through the house?” Elaina had thought that their mother would end up having a fit. Thankfully their father had repaired it with a wave of his wand with no problem at all. She let out a soft chuckle as she shook her head.
