full name: Ryan Derrick Thomas
age: Sixteen years old
year: Sixth Year
birthday: August 28
blood line: Pureblood
occupation: Student
former / house: Hufflepuff
personality
Now, Ryan is a very Hufflepuff like Hufflepuff, that is absolutely a certain fact. You see, he is loyal to a fault and will do anything to protect his friends. Though an irritating thing about him protecting his friends tend to be leaving things that may be otherwise important out if he thinks they can't handle it. This sort of protectiveness can cause his friends to get upset with him, though if they ask him directly he'll tell them the complete truth. Ryan keeps secrets like no tomorrow and, when told to him there is practically and undeniably no plausible way of them getting out. Ryan also may be led to consider himself "more of a lover than a fighter" even if it might not be the complete circumstance of things. He still doesn't like fighting, although he'll back up his friends in a fight if he's needed. This, of course, does not extend to stupid, little not even a little bit dangerous stupid fights that his friends may manage to get themselves into while possibly joking around.Ryan's got a bit of a cocky front to him (that sinks just a bit below the surface as well). He can take things on with a little bit of sass and courage as he'd like, as well as the slightest skeptical arch of his eyebrow to go along with it. Ryan's rather good at putting on a facade like that when it's needed, so he doesn't let anyone get in and take advantage of his true feelings. This mask is used rarely around any of his friends, however, who he permits to see him through and through, without disguise. Ryan also has a good amount of wit and sarcasm to him, expect quick comebacks from him, he's never one to just roll with anything like that. Ryan's a real and true sweetheart though, for the most part, to anyone he's dating, as well as his friends. Due to his more caring and protective nature towards his friends he's also developed observant tendencies. This means that if anything's going on with them, he'll usually end up thinking something's going on and ask them about that. Overall Ryan has a kind heart underneath anything, though he's quick to defend his friends and family, with quick wits. There are also many more traits of his that are demonstrated when you get to know him more thoroughly.
"Those patient Hufflepuffs are true and unafraid of toil."
appearance
Ryan is a rather handsome young man. He has a lean, yet muscular build too him, and his muscles aren't to be underestimated. Under some circumstances Ryan could very well be described as lanky, and was in his younger years. However, at this point in time Ryan has grown into his looks rather well. He also currently stands at about six feet in height, with a weight that is in a good ratio to his large stature. Starting at the very top of his head Ryan has rather long hair which ranges from brown to dark brown/black in coloration. Ryan also has striking eyes that are a mixture of the colors blue, green, and with just the barest touch of grey concealed within their depths. Highlighting Ryan's striking eyes are his dark eyebrows, which are rather noticeable and can be used in order to give himself a rather stern and menacing appearance at times. Ryan's shoulders are also not so broad in description, but appear to be lean, matching the rest of his appearance. He also has long legs, which come along with a rather long stride, which aids him in getting from place to place more easily. Finally, Ryan can typically be found wearing casual blue jeans and a t-shirt (along with his shoes and jacket, depending on the season) when he is out of his Hogwarts uniform."For Hufflepuff, hard workers were most worthy of admission."
history
Ryan Derrick Thomas was born August 28th of the year 1961 to Veronica and Waylon Thomas. He was a healthy, happy baby boy, though he was born a week or two earlier than he should have been. He was a happy child and reached all of his childhood milestones on time. Once Ryan learned to talk, however, he was always jabbering on and on. This was rather annoying, and amusing for his mother, who was staying at home to look after him. Even at a young age Ryan was always trying to help out his mother, as well, even though she might not want it. He was almost always under foot trying to do this, and at times his mother hand to lock him inside of his play pen. This was out of the way so she could get things done without having to keep a close eye on him. These were also the circumstances that Ryan demonstrated his first signs of magic under. Little Ryan had just turned two years old and his mother had just gotten him settled in his play pen. However, today the little toddler hadn't been content with just sitting there and playing nicely with his toys. Therefore, it wasn't all that unsuspected when Ryan had hovered/flown out of his crib and ended up toddling out to rejoin his mother. However, his mother, though proud of her son was not happy with him having escaped and had proceeded to put him back in the playpen. It's safe to say that she had quite a bit of trouble keeping him their after the first time. A week later and she had begun using spells in charms in order to prevent him from leaving the playpen. The young boy was quite difficult to control. An older Ryan Thomas received his acceptance letter to Hogwarts on his eleventh birthday, which came just a few days before the first days before the first day of the school year. This mother had rushed them to Diagon Alley to purchase his school supplies while his father had been busy working one day. there Ryan collected his books, wand, robes and various other supplies, including his owl. The owl was a black barn owl, which was named Sunset by the young boy for the owl's unique markings. The next few days had been spent packing with the aid of his mother. Upon arriving at Hogwarts Ryan was sorted into Hufflepuff, unlike his father, who had been a Ravenclaw, and his mother, who had been a Gryffindor. The happy boy made friends over the years, as well as growing up and growing into himself. He became friends (or rather best friends) with Nicholas, and is also currently dating Elaina Bradley, who is a year younger than himself. Over this span of time his family had become known as blood traitors within the wizarding world. This was mostly due to the fact that both of his parents were members of the Order of the Phoenix, with Ryan being a possible member in the future, as well. Ryan passed his O.W.Ls well and now has his N.E.W.Ts to study for in a year or so.[/ul]

rp sample: a post of maddy's
One might think that studying late on a Saturday night was something to just be considered outrageous. Who in their right mind would be studying on a Saturday? Yeah, that was something that Maddy questioned regularly. Spending time in the library on a Saturday night was not her idea of having fun, either. plus, she couldn't be sure how many Slytherins would be lurking about the hallways at this hour. Directly defying her parents (on accident) by getting target by a simpering, stuck up, out to get the world Slytherin would not help. No matter how unintentional that it might end up being. Staying just a little bit trapped in the library peering at the light fading from the sky from over the edge of her book didn't seem like such a bright idea anymore. She should really have thought things true just a bit more.
Who needed to attempt a bit of relaxation in the library? In fact, now that she thought of it, who would even really want to? Not that Maddy had anything against the library. Really, she didn't, in fact, she liked it quite well. It was just that the library was associated with studying and school work, which a plentiful sum of her fellow students didn't even consider finishing on a Saturday. Especially not a Saturday, for that matter.
The idea to come down to the library had seemed like a good one at first. She had needed to escape the complete and utter chaos of the Gryffindor common room in order to work on her homework. Maddy hadn't thought twice about walking through the hallways right after dinner, when the light had been plentiful and had suppressed the shadows to the space behind the suits of armor. Now, however, the darkness had seemed to take over, sweeping over the corridors and making it almost appear haunted. Maddy didn't even have to being inhabiting those corridors to know that. She had experienced the overwhelming, suffocating fear of the dark corridors as a first year. Even as a seventh year, that wasn't something that she wanted to experience. Especially with the currents circumstances of the wizarding world (and Hogwarts).
It was funny how if you just swept a bit of darkness over things they suddenly became all the more frightening. Walking around during the day, it as hard to believe the comforting corridors could be so dark and ominous.
Maddy sighed softly as she lifted her eyes from her book, peering once again out the nearby window. She should be heading back soon, there was only so much time left before lights out. So much time before everything turned black. Maddy simply shook her head and rearranged herself to be comfortable on the small little love seat. She hadn't been all that surprised in discovering it. After all, the first time that she had encountered this little alcove was in her second year. Therefore this whole situation had been more like rediscovering one of her favorite little hiding spots from when she was younger. She had missed it hear, the comforts of the library, just a little bit more isolated than sitting in the middle of the library. Doing homework required having a lot less attention on her. It was surprising how easily distracted she could get.
Maddy lowered her eyes back to her book to continue reading. It was a wizarding novel, and quite interesting at that. Her mother had suggested it to her, and she had finally agreed to give it a try. At the moment she had all of the time in the world to read, too. She had finally finished her homework earlier, so she had the rest of the weekend to enjoy the novel. that was, unless one of her friends dragged her off to do something they deemed much more exciting. Of course, Maddy would most likely end up agreeing with her friends. That was how it usually worked, the outgoing Madeleine McKinnon, always happily (at least, sometimes) dragged away from her books.
Once more, however, Maddy was dragged from her book, which she had become quite absorbed in, once again, over the past few moments. She could hear the footsteps that seemed to be approaching, a mild concern entering her mind. She was just a bit anxious to see whoever it would be, her earlier concerns arising just a little bit. Maddy arose from her lounged position, sitting up and placing her book beside her. Maddy's bracelet's jangled slightly together as she drew her wand, partially, keeping it in easy reach as she stood. "Who's there?" She queried, her voice strong and giving no hint to her concerns. Madeleine McKinnon was a force to be reckoned with. there was no way a few footsteps were going to frighten her.
