full name: Kevin Daniel Miller
age: Fifteen
year: Fifth
birthday:Sepetember 7th
blood line:Muggleborn
occupation: Student
house: Gryffindor
Kevin is the sort of boy who prefers to keep out of trouble. He likes to keep his head down and get on with things in that quiet, sensible, dedicated way. Except that he has a group of friends that let him do anything but that. He’s forever wondering why he hangs around with a bunch of people that are always trying to cause trouble and consequently getting him into trouble. If Kevin had his way then his record would be perfect. He gets quite high grades in his classes and he very much tries to pay attention and be good. The problem is he’s easily distracted and so of course, unfortunately for him, other people tend to get him into trouble. If he was a lonely person then he would have a perfect record. But he’s not, he loves his friends and although he’s quiet and more reserved, he is sociable and likes being a good, loyal friend.
He’s that sensible one who people tend to call a spoilsport but really he just sees it as being mature and doing the right thing. He’s wise beyond his years and his favourite thing to do is lie in bed and read a good book when he’s not trying to keep his friends out of trouble that is. That’s not to say he doesn’t like being sociable, he does but only to an extent. Sitting and talking in the Great Hall and the common room is fine but attending a wild party in the Room of Requirement is a no; that is way out of his comfort zone. He does not like being the centre of attention either, he’s very happy to take the backseat and chip in when needed. He’s quiet but not out of rudeness, simply because if he doesn’t have anything important to say then he won’t say anything at all. He’s a dedicated student and takes his studies very seriously. He still has moments when he can’t quite believe that he’s a wizard and so he never takes anything at school for granted and works extra hard. Part of that is out of self-doubt because sometimes he wonders whether he has to work hard in order to compensate for the fact that he’s muggleborn.
He has a few habits and organisational quirks. When he’s nervous, he tends to tap his heel so much that his whole leg shakes. He also chews on his lips, so much so that they’ve become extremely chapped. Everything on his desk has to be neatly lined up in a certain way and his area of his dormitory is very clean and tidy. Other people’s mess doesn’t bother him so much but his own things do have to be organised properly otherwise he just doesn’t feel right. He tends to spin his quill through his fingers during classes and a lot of the teachers think that he’s doing it because he’s bored and therefore not concentrating but actually the action helps him to think. He likes to fiddle with something in his hands when he’s concentrating or talking to someone, not because he’s rude but because actually it helps him to stay focused.
History
Born on the seventh of September, Kevin Daniel Miller was just an ordinary boy who lived an ordinary life with his ordinary family. They were your typical family. Two happily married parents with a mortgage and two children; a boy and a girl. Kevin’s sister Louise is two years older than him and they got along like most siblings do; better when they weren’t stuck in each other’s company. For several years the family went about their relatively happy, normal lifestyle. They were affluent enough to afford nice summer holidays and both Kevin and his sister did well enough at school. And then one day, when Louise was eight or nine years old, strange things started happening. Strange things that none of the Miller household could explain.
Objects would randomly fly around the house. Doors would shut unexpectedly and once, Kevin’s action man’s head fell off during an argument with his sister. For a while, the family thought maybe they had a resident ghost or poltergeist until one day Louise confided in them that she thought it was actually her doing. They dismissed this as crazy and even sent her to the doctors to make sure she wasn’t going crazy. Of course it turned out that she wasn’t and things got even stranger when Kevin repaired a vase he had smashed by accident. But the mystery wasn’t revealed until her eleventh birthday when a professor from Hogwart’s School turned up, handing over her letter and explaining about the wizarding world. Kevin was possibly more excited about this announcement than his sister and he was gutted that he would have to wait another two years until he got to go.
But his time came eventually and soon enough he was on the way to Hogwarts, fully prepared on what to expect because he had picked his sister’s brains each time she came home for the holidays. He remembers to this very day, sitting under the sorting hat so clearly. He sat there for well over a minute as the hat debated over Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. For one wild moment, the scared eleven year old wondered whether the hat would just tell him to go home because he was too difficult to place. But eventually it yelled out Gryffindor; the same house as his sister and the one he had imagined he was least likely to be placed in (forgetting Slytherin automatically of course). But a Gryffindor he was and he made friends, did well in lessons and very much enjoyed school; not once would you hear him complaining about it in four whole years because he considered himself very lucky. Nothing special ever happened to him and he was going to make the most of it.
This year, Kevin was terrified about going back to school and his parents nearly stopped them from going. But he didn’t want to miss out, he loved being a wizard, even if that right was slowly being taken away from him, he wasn’t going to run hiding; proof that he is a true Gryffindor at heart, ready to face whatever challenges may lie in store.
